Lockngo Professional
has a new useful
feature that enables
the exclusion
of specific files
from the disk
lock and hide
process.
This new feature
enables you to
save a special
file in the root
of your portable
drive with your
personal information
so that if the
drive is found
by anyone, it
can be returned
to you. The new
version simply
excludes this
special file from
being locked and
hidden during
disk lock. Disk
autorun files
(autorun.*) are
also excluded
from the lock
process in the
new version.
Limitations
Lockngo and Lockngo
Professional support
disks formatted
as FAT or FAT32.
Lockngo does
NOT support NTFS
File Systems.
Lockngo does not
support NTFS because
it is a system
that creates a
large cache in
RAM. Quite often
a user unplugs
a portable disk
without releasing
it. This may result
in corrupted data
on the portable
disk. Though this
is not caused
by Lockngo, users
may assume it
is.
Lockngo displays
a limit of 512MB
for data
and full disk
encryption? I
have a larger
disk than 512MB.
What should I
do?
Data and full
disk encryption
are time consuming
processes. The
default value
of 512MB presents
a practical combination
of size and speed,
and meet the needs
of most users.
There are two
possible solutions
for large disks
(Lockngo Pro only):
1. Divide the
disk into several
partitions. You
can have a copy
of lockngo on
each partition.
Make sure that
the size of the
partition(s) on
which lockngo
is present do
not exceed 512MB
.
2. Increase the
default size limit.
As of version
3.1 it is possible
to change the
default size limit
for data and full
disk encryption
through the command
line tool. Please
refer to the Lockngo
Professional User
Manual for details.
As explained -
please be aware
that increasing
the default size
will lead to longer
locking times.
Lockngo (non Professional)
and the Quick
Lock function
of Lockngo Professional
do not have a
size limit.
