Useful beat visualization - peakscope & specscope
Peakscope lets you keep your eye on the mix and stay on the beat! Beat visualization in the peakscope helps find quick and easy transitions and synchronize tracks with each other. If you like, you can also view the track's frequency distribution using the specscope. In addition, the beat phase display ensures an optimal overview of the individual phases of each beat.
Always stay on the right beat - thanks to the master tempo
The master tempo determines the tempo of a DJ set, if desired, so that the DJ software can orient on the current master tempo during synchronization of various songs from the playlist, letting the overall mix never get faster or slower.
This feature helps DJs to avoid making drastic tempo jumps within a set and to ensure an overall consistent mix, e.g. in DJ style.

When mixing different songs, it can happen that the tempo of one track must be adjusted, and changing the tempo also changes the pitch. This can sometimes cause unpleasant and undesired distortions, nicknamed "Mickey Mouse sounds".
The key-lock button helps in these cases - when it is activated, the pitch remains constant when the song tempo changes. When it is deactivated, the track's pitch also changes.

Remix with the realtime sampler
MAGIX Digital DJ 2 offers manifold innovative functions that let you express yourself when DJing.
With the built-in realtime 8-slot sampler you can load up to eight beat-synchronized samples or loops at a time and mix them to the playing track in realtime. The sampler is ideally suited to add your own or one or several already included sounds to any number of songs and create your own remix versions! Of course, you can also easily load your own samples into the sampler.

Another impressive tool for creating suspense and dramatic breaks in playing songs is the Relooper.
A playing song is broken up into individual pieces, re-combined and played back as a loop - it's the easiest way to creatively influence a mix!

Loop function
The loop function can be used to repeat section of a song in various lengths. This way, suspense can be created before a break, an especially catchy part of a song may be repeated again and again, or you can use looping creatively in a remix.
It is possible to vary the length of the loop and to set in- and out-points by hand.
PLUS! Leap function: loops while the track is playing in the background and returns to the current playback position.

In addition to classical loops and the known leap function, which allows looping during track playback, Snap Quant offers two innovative modes. Using cue marker you can select parts of songs which can then be directly controlled and played back

3-band equalizer with kill function
The EQ is the best tool for optimally preparing the sound of a song for the mix; here you can easily adjust the high, middle and low frequencies of a song.

MAGIX Digital DJ 2 is powered by Deckadance, the reference DJ software and offers a highly precise Audio Engine, developed especially for DJing on Macs and PCs.
All processes are calculated internally with a professional 64-bit engine and deliver perfect sound and absolute stability.
ASIO support (only for the PC version)
ASIO allows working with a lower CPU load and enables operation of audio applications with lower latencies. MAGIX Digital DJ 2 installation includes the ASIO4ALL ASIO driver. This has two benefits:
- Speed: ASIO drivers (in general) allow lower CPU overhead and shorter buffer length than the standard Windows (DirectSound, WDM Driver). If possible, you should always use an ASIO driver for your sound card.
- Multiple audio devices: With the ASIO4ALL driver, you can attach additional audio devices, such as external USB sound cards, which can be used to monitor the output with your headphones* while the main output continues to please the crowd.
